Nigeria - The Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye, today declared that the recall process allegedly orchestrated by the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello will fail because he (Melaye) is fighting a just course, DAILY POST reports.
Senator Melaye made the statement during the empowerment programme of the lawmaker representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, Hon Solomon Ahwinahwi which held at Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Melaye who is challenging his recall at the court said, “I am not only going to get justice but there is no recall programme.”
“He is not fighting me, he is fighting God almighty because what I am fighting for is just and true and because in an unjust society silence is a crime.”
Melaye noted that the governor is fighting him because he asked him to pay workers salaries, including pensioners as well as open higher institutions that have been closed down for five months while doctors be made to resume work by calling off their strike in addition to providing Kogites dividends of democracy.
Senator Melaye, however, lauded the empowerment programme of his colleague and called on lawmakers to emulate Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi.
