Jose Mourinho named the youngest Manchester United starting 11 in Premier League history, for their last fixture of the season against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, winning 2-0.
United were already condemned to finish sixth regardless and Mourinho used the opportunity to rest his star players, ahead of Wednesday’s Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm.
The Portuguese had before now given three players their senior debuts.
Goalkeeper Joel Pereira (20), full-back Demetri Mitchell (20) and forward Josh Harrop (21) all made their first appearances for the Red Devils, with midfielder Scott McTominay (20) making his first start.
The inclusion of the kids meant the average age of the XI is 22 years, 284 days and is the youngest line-up Manchester United have ever named in Premier League history.
