Nigeria - The Presidency, has given reasons former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) is still being held in detention.
Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu explained that the Federal Government is still holding Dasuki because there are many cases against him.

He said this while addressing State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
Flanked by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and the SSA on Media and Publicity to the Acting President, Laolu Akande, Shehu said while Dasuki secured court bails in some of the cases, there were many other cases still pending against him.
Speaking on the continued detention of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, Shehu said the “Islamic cleric was in protective custody.”
