CNPP blasts Makarfi and Gov. Fayose for playing politics with released Chibok Girls

Nigeria - The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Ekiti State has criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi and Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose over their comments on the release of 82 Chibok girls.
While Makarfi condemned the swap of the girls with some Book Haram members, Fayose described the release of the girls as a diversionary tactic orchestrated by the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

But Ekiti CNPP in a statement on Tuesday by its Chairman, Prince Tunji Ogunlola slammed Makarfi for “playing politics with the freedom of the girls who had been in captivity for over three years.”
Ogunlola said Nigerians appreciated efforts of President Buhari to get the girls released in line with his promise in the run-up to the 2019 general elections.
“CNPP condemns a faction of the PDP led by Makarfi for playing politics with the Chibok girls’ release. They had their own time in power but lacked the will to secure the release of the girls.
“The CNPP also condemns statement credited to Governor Fayose on the Chibok girls.
“The CNPP advises him to pay attention to good governance and look for ways to pay civil servants and pensioners who are dying daily”, he said.
The body also appealed to all political parties to mobilise eligible voters to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
It condemned a particular political party for alleged distribution of money to influence voter registration.
The CNPP warned officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against colluding with any political party to perpetrate voter registration fraud.
