Nigeria - Acting president Yemi Osinbajo is presently being briefed on the security situation of Nigeria by service chiefs and heads of other security agencies.
According to Premium Times, the briefing is taking place in the Situation Room of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Minister of defence Mansur Dan-Ali said the briefing is aimed at “allowing the service chiefs and other heads of security agencies to brief the acting president on the security situation in the country”.
Dan-Ali said the briefing will allow the security agencies an opportunity to show the “unflinching support, commitment and loyalty of the Nigerian Armed Forces to the present administration.”
He said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has provided the needed support to the armed forces and helped the fight against Boko Haram insurgents and other security threats across the country.
He also said “weapons, communication equipment and arrest of many Boko Haram fighters” have been recovered from operations.
