Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, has become the first ever player in football history, to score at least 40 goals for eight consecutive seasons.
The Argentine bagged a brace, as Luis Enrique’s men defeated 10-man Valencia 4-2 on Sunday in a La Liga fixture.
Messi scored his first from the penalty spot in the first half, before firing home inside the area from a Javier Mascherano pass.
“He’s broken all of the records and he will keep on breaking them. What a wonder to be able to enjoy him,” Enrique said after the match.
“His numbers are out of everyone’s reach. Messi’s numbers are impossible for anyone who is not him. We will miss them in the future.”
The win saw Barca move back to within two points of league leaders, Real Madrid.
