Nigeria - The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmos, on Tuesday quoted the mother of the medical doctor, Allwell Orji, who jumped off the 3rd mainland bridge as saying the body earlier recovered was not her son’s.
Orji had on Sunday committed suicide on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The doctor was said to have asked his driver to park after receiving a call and jumped into the lagoon.
Against this backdrop, Orji’s mother had expressed optimism that her son would return home alive.
She had said, “I am hopeful that my son will be rescued by the emergency officials and not the recovery of his body.”
Report had it earlier today that the body of the medical doctor has been found.
But speaking shortly after a body was recovered, Badmos said, “The mother has come to identify the body recovered, but she said the deceased was not her son.
