Nigeria - Reports say that the whistle blower responsible for exposing the former NNPC boss, Andrew Yakubu, to the EFCC claims there were four safes hidden in Yakubu’s Sabon Tasha’s residence as opposed to the one discovered in the raid on February 3.
The informant is alleged to have told EFCC the other safes were evacuated to an unknown destinantion days prior to the raid. Following instructions from Mr Andrew Yakubu who suspected that the operatives had gathered surveillance on the house.
Furthermore, the whistle blower said chances of discovering the safe containing $9.2 million and £72000 would have dimished had the EFCC come a day late.
When asked about the whereabouts of the missing three safes, the informant said he does not know.
