The Shiite Muslim leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky might soon lose his sight due to lack of proper medical care in prison as reported by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).
IMN claimed that the doctor in charge of the Sheikh said he has passed on these warning to the authorities but his warnings seem to be ignored.
IMN said: “The way and manner in which the federal government has been handling the health of the fatally injured Sheikh Zakzaky for the past 13 months leaves much to be desired.”
The group claimed that the federal government has also refused to let the Sheikh’s personal doctor visit him. They said: “Thus far, the government has decided to play deaf, dumb and blind, as if all is well.”
News Agency of Nigeria reported that IMN appealed to Nigerians to join them in mounting pressure on government to release him, in compliance with court order and to enable him attend to his health.
The group has also called on Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to obey Court order and free Sheikh Zakzaky.
Recall that Ibrahim El-zakzaky and his wife were arrested in 2015 after a peaceful procession of the Muslim group that led to a clash between the group and Nigerian army.
