Embattled Dalung reveals Nigeria's 2016 Sports Ministry budget yet to be released

About two weeks to the end of 2016, the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, on Tuesday said the 2016 budget for the ministry has not been released.

Dalung, however, said President Muhammadu Buhari has been augmenting the ministry spending.

He added that there were plans to send in a supplementary bill to the National Assembly.
President Buhari had last week submitted the 2017 appropriation bill to the National Assembly for consideration.
The minister, who spoke at a town hall meeting in Abuja, blamed the challenges in the sector for the zero budgeting in 2016.
Dalung said the ministry has started thinking outside the box to ensure it raises money to run its affairs.
He added that the ministry has learnt from its past and would always avoid what would cause embarrassment to the country.
