If your purpose for blogging is to make money, then you have failed. You sure would not last in the business and easily end up quitting. Blogging starts with passion and doing what you like doing best. Sharing information you like sharing best. You may be a motivational speaker, entertainer, Business person, newscaster, etc. You should have a passion and do it like you are never going to make money from it. It starts with passion and not the quest for quick rich. Linda Ikeji started with passion and thereafter tenancity paid off. She never really thought about making money when she started. She just delighted in making people informed and entertained and kept posting things as such.
We all are not going to be Linda Ikeji, she has successfully turned her passion to a stream of stable income. You too have your passion. Left for me, the content of my blog is very well finetuned to my personality. I see some guys posting nudes because they think that is trending and would generate traffic. No! I can never post nude. Be yourself and discover your reasonable passion, then share for free, there lies the secret to generating interest to your blog.
Don't start a blog with the hope of making money, start a blog because you just want to make impact in the lives of people by giving them information that would help them.
