Fresh charges filed against Senate President Saraki over assests declaration

Nigeria - The Federal Government yesterday filed an amended charge against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on alleged falsification and non-declaration of assets between 2003 and 2015. The amended charge was signed by A.K. Alilu, an assistant chief state counsel in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.

This is the third time the government will be filling an amended charge against the Senate President, since his trial started.

And CCB’s amended charge stalls Senate President Saraki’s trial

Nigeria - The trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) was stalled on Wednesday in Abuja due to fresh filing of 18-count amended charge.

Saraki was initially standing trial on a 13-count charge for alleged false asset declaration at the tribunal.

The trial, which started in September 2015, was later amended in 2016, with an addition of three charges, making it 16-count.
