IPOB, ESN lawyer Maxwell Okpara defending Emefiele – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) said a lawyer of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Maxwell Okpara, was defending the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

DSS made the remark on Tuesday while describing Okpara as a “charge-and-bail lawyer” after he filed contempt charges against its Director-General, Yusuf Bichi, over Emefiele’s continued detention.

In a series of tweets, the secret police said the lawyers who filed the charges against Bichi were led by an “overzealous and uninformed IPOB/ESN lawyer.”

According to DSS: “Charge and bail, overzealous, uninformed IPOB/ESN lawyer Maxwell Okpara mobilises other like-minded lawyers against DGSS. Futile efforts. Well, Nigerians, beware! This is in bad faith. Transferred aggression.

“A Biafran Republic agitator and outlawed IPOB counsel defending the suspended CBN Governor. Is IPOB defending one of theirs?
