Finally, NCDC and Cross River Governor Ben Ayade bow to pressure as NCDC records first ever cases of coronavirus


Nigeria - After days of denial by the state Governor Ben Ayade and the delayed announcement by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Cross River State has recorded five cases of the novel coronavirus.


The NCDC said this Monday night. Recall our earlier report on Sunday that the delay and denial resulted in the Cross River Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) taking to industrial action to drive home their displeasure READ HERE.
This is the first time that positive results would be confirmed in the state since the outbreak of the disease in February.
NCDC announced the development while confirming 575 new cases.
These new cases were recorded in 20 states of the federation.
The top five are Lagos-123, FCT-100, Delta-58
Edo-52, Ogun -42.
The least three are Cross River-5, Kaduna-3
Ekiti-1.
Nigeria has recorded a total of 29,286 confirmed cases and 654 deaths.
