Good news as 98-year old among discharged COVID-19 patients in Lagos

Nigeria - A 98-year-old female, the oldest COVID-19 patient in Lagos, has been discharged from one of the isolation centres in the state.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, made the announcement via a tweet on Wednesday night.
She was one of the 26 patients discharged in Lagos on Wednesday, after testing negative twice for COVID-19.
“Today, we discharged a 98 year old woman, our oldest #COVID19 patient in Lagos. She joined 25 others; 13 males and 12 females, discharged from our isolation centres after testing negative for #COVID19, bringing the total of our successfully managed and discharged patients to 528,” the tweet read.
Sanwo-Olu also thanked frontline workers for their efforts, and urged residents to play their part by adhering to safety guidelines to limit the spread of the virus.
As of May 12, 2020, Lagos had recorded 1,990 COVID-19 cases, the highest in the country.
