Charles Okah and son testify in court over Indepoendence Day bombing

Nigeria - Alleged mastermind of the Independence Day bombing in Abuja, Charles Okah yesterday testified alongside his son before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Okah, who was arraigned with Obi Nwabueze over the attack, which killed 12 persons, were on June 1 ordered by Justice Ibrahim Auta to open their defence. 


Okah, while testifying, tendered the ECOWAS Passport of his younger brother, Henry Okah, which was admitted in evidence.
Also, his son, Owoebi Charles Okah, tendered documents of his academic fees Visual Arts at the Kansas University in USA.
He said he received the sum of $14, 000 from his father for fees and accommodation during his first semester, while he paid N278, 000 for air ticket.
But under cross examination by prosecution counsel, Alex Izinyon (SAN) he admitted that $19, 470 was spent for the first semester.
Justice Gabriel Kolawole has adjourned the case to October 24 to enable the prosecution conclude cross examination.
