The #BringBackOurGirls movement has extended condolences to the government and people of the United States of America over its soldiers killed in an ambush in Niger Republic.

The movement expressed the condolence in a statement issued by the group’s conveners, Oby Ezekwesili and Florence Ozor, in Abuja yesterday.
Quoting the US Navy Lieutenant Commander Anthony Falvo, the group said the US forces were in Niger to provide training and security assistance to the Nigerien Armed Forces, including support for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance efforts, in their efforts to target violent extremist organizations in the region.
It also said part of the training was to assist and advice the Nigeriens in order to increase their ability to bring stability and security to their people.
