Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has hinted that Kelechi Iheanacho may end up staying at the club next season, if he is not able to complete a transfer to Leicester City.
Iheanacho is on the verge of joining th Foxes, after dropping down the pecking order in Guardiola’s attacking options.
The deal is however being held up, as some details are yet to be sorted out.
Commenting on the future of some of City players after his team’s 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season game on Sunday, Guardiola stated that Iheanacho will remain if the move to Leicester do not materialise.
“I think Kelechi is going to leave, for Leicester,” the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss told Sky Sports.
“I think so, but I don’t want to say something wrong. We will see. If it doesn’t happen, he will be part of the group.”
