Former world number one Maria Sharapova has won her first match after returning to tennis following a doping ban.
The 30-year-old beat Roberta Vinci in straight sets in the first round of the Stuttgart Open.
She was given a controversial wildcard to enter the tournament she has previously won three times after her 15-month suspension came to an end.

The former Wimbledon champion tested positive for meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open.
She was originally banned for two years but that was reduced on appeal.
Speaking in a courtside interview, she said: "It's the best feeling in the world. To know I would be walking back into the arena was very special.
"I was waiting for this moment for a long time."
She added: "I am a competitor by nature. That's when I am at my best."
The player appeared to be nervous at the beginning of the match, sending three forehands long in the first game.
It was 15 minutes before she won a game, after which her serve gradually improved.
She clinched the first set after an hour, eventually winning 7-5 6-3.
Sharapova has been invited to play in Madrid and Rome, and will also find out next month whether she will receive a wild card for the French Open.
