
Nigeria - Despite the high rate of insecurity in Ejigbo community, a Police station built in the area is reported to have been abandoned and rented out to a popular church.
According to a report by P.M Express, the church, Living Faith Ministry, allegedly rented the station located at Omiyale Street in Ejigbo and converted it to a worship center.
The church is said to have been operating inside the station over the last five years with the pastor in charge allegedly paying a monthly fee to subsequent DPOs who have served under the Ejigbo division.
However, a Police officer disclosed that the present DPO has asked the church to leave the station. As a result, the church has complied moving out their properties.
A recent visit by P.M express to the station also confirmed that the church has left the premises.
It was further revealed that residents of the community voiced out due to the spike in crime in the area including armed robbery, cultism and burglary.
The residents bemoaned that it was unfortunate such Police station could be built and rented out to a church at the expense of the safety of life and properties of residents .
