Oh goodness me! Confusion in National Assembly as clerk slumps, dies

Nigeria - There was confusion at the National Assembly premises on Monday after Clerk to the House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Production Services, Mohammed Shuaibu, slumped and died.

It was gathered that the late Clerk drove himself to work on Monday, ahead of a scheduled meeting of the committee.
The real cause of his sudden demise is still sketchy at the moment but sources said he complained of experiencing some discomfort before slumping.
He was quickly rushed to the National Assembly Clinic for medical attention, but it was too late as doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident, Director of Information and Publications at the National Assembly, Mr. Dibal Ishaku, said the real cause of his death was still unknown.
“Yes, our colleague has died. We don’t know what happened.
The body has been taken back to Zaria”, Ishaku said.
Similarly, the Chairman of the committee, Mr. Mohammed Monguno, also confirmed the sad development.
He said the late Mohammed would be greatly missed by all for his vast legislative prowess.
“He was a hard working officer, who was deployed to the committee about one year ago,” Monguno added.
