Thousands of people in Britain and across the world have marked almost a century since the Armistice that ended the First World War.
A two-minute silence was held at 11am to commemorate the declaration of the end of the fighting between Allied Forces and Germany 98 years ago.
Prince Harry attended an Armistice Day Service at the Armed Forces Memorial in Staffordshire, a day after he and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Westminster Abbey's Field of Remembrance to lay small wooden crosses.
Harry, 32, paid his respects alongside veterans and representatives of the Army, Royal Navy and RAF.
He then read aloud a poem, The Soldier, by First World War poet Rupert Brooke.
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales attended an Armistice Day service of remembrance in Bahrain.
Charles, who is in the Middle East with the Duchess of Cornwall on behalf of the Government, met military representatives and British veterans before taking his seat for the service.
Towards the end, he laid a wreath at the war memorial, followed by Bahraini representatives, foreign ambassadors and military officials.
Hundreds of people commemorated the anniversary at a Royal British Legion event in Trafalgar Square, London, which included musical performances and readings.
Following the two-minute silence, attendees were invited to throw poppy petals in the fountains.
In Croydon, south London, an extra minute's silence was held to remember the victims of a fatal tram crash.
To mark Remembrance Sunday, the Queen is expected to join other members of the royal family, veterans and the country's political leaders at the foot of the Cenotaph memorial in London's Whitehall.
Legion Branches around the country participate in local Remembrance services both on Remembrance Sunday and on 11 November.
