A man has died after being shot in the street in Dublin.
He was approached by a lone male gunman on Bridgefoot Street, and shot several times.
The victim - in his mid 50s - was taken to St James Hospital in a serious condition, but later died.
The area has been sealed off for forensic examination, and a murder investigation is under way.
A silver/grey Mercedes, which had been stolen earlier, was discovered burnt out a short distance away.
A gun was also found nearby and will be forensically examined.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
