President Muhammadu Buhari submitted a corrected version of the 2016 budget to Parliament on Tuesday to clear up confusion following claims that the original document had gone missing.
The new version doesn’t adjust figures published in the budget report submitted on Dec. 22, Buhari said in a letter to Senate President Bukola Saraki and read to lawmakers. It corrects errors contained in a “schedule of details” that accompanied the budget, according to the letter.
The 2016 budget seeks to boost spending by about 20 percent to 6.08 trillion naira ($30.6 billion) this year to help revive an economy hit by collapsing oil prices. The Senate agreed to begin discussing the proposals on Wednesday.
