NEWS: NIGERIA - Anti-Corruption; Pro-Buhari group warns PDP

A national group supporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption in the country has warned the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop condemning the President’s political moves to stamp out corruption from the nation.
The Buhari Vanguard (BV) group in a statement yesterday, signed by its National Coordinator, Musa Aliyu, said PDP should allow the rule of law to prevail as all the suspects of looted public funds are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty by a competent court of law.

The group noted that the fight against corruption by the Buhari administration is transparent and free of political, ethnic and religious bias, adding that the fight was being executed in the interest of present and future generations of Nigerians.

“We categorically and unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms any move by the PDP or their agents to harass, intimidate or subvert the effort of the present administration in the fight against corruption by whipping political, ethnic and religious sentiments.

“We and indeed all well meaning Nigerians are solidly behind president Muhammadu Buhari in his quest to fight corruption to a stand still, to make our dear nation once again viable and respected in the comity of nations, thereby attracting investments from all over the world.

“We of the Buhari Vanguard shall continue to sensitize Nigerians on the laudable policies of this administration aimed at bringing lasting peace, stability and economic progress to our dear nation.

“We, therefore, call on all the good people of Nigeria to ignore and resist any attempt by any agent or group of agents to incite the public through Ill-motivated, self-centered and diabolical antics capable of truncating the progress that we are witnessing today”. The statement concluded.
