Starboy record label front liner, Wizkid won the BET Awards 2017 “Best African International Act Award”.

He was nominated alongside Tekno, Aka, Nasty C, Mr Eazi, Babes Wodumo and his rival, Davido. The Sony Music Act beat all of them to the award.

Court says Trump's daughter Ivanka must testify in knock-off shoes suit

President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka must give testimony later this year in a lawsuit against her apparel company, which is accused of lifting designs from a celebrated Italian shoemaker, a US judge ruled.

In a court order issued on Friday, New York District Judge Katherine Forrest rejected Trump’s assertion that she should be exempted from having to appear at a deposition in the case, because of the demands on her time as a senior White House official.

Nigeria - The Department of State Security Services (DSS) says it has uncovered a sinister plot by terrorists to stage series of coordinated attacks using explosives on different cities across the country.

The aim of such attacks is to hit on soft targets such as markets, public parks, public processions, recreation centres, as well as worship centres especially the Eid Praying Grounds and other densely populated areas during the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, the DSS said.

Rescue workers in China searched for 118 people still missing more than 24 hours after a landslide buried a mountain village, with hopes fading on Sunday after 15 bodies were pulled out of the rock and mud during the first day of the search.

A couple and their two-month-old baby were found alive in the hours after the massive landslide crashed down on the village of Xinmo, in the southwest province of Sichuan as dawn broke on Saturday. But there was no news of any other survivors being found.

Indonesian policeman killed in knife attack by suspected militants

An Indonesian police officer was stabbed and later died of his wounds in an attack by suspected Islamist militants in the city of Medan, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

Police shot dead one suspect and one was arrested after the attack on a police post in the capital of North Sumatra province, police spokesman Rina Sari Ginting said by telephone.

Yemen cholera outbreak now 'worst in the world'

The cholera outbreak in Yemen has now become the worst in the world, the United Nations says.

The disease is spreading at a rate of 5,000 new cases a day, forcing the total number suffering from the killer illness to reach more than 200,000.

So far, 1,300 have died including around 300 children, but the number who have died is expected to rise.

More than 120 people - including children - have been killed after an oil tanker carrying 40,000 litres of fuel flipped over and burst into flames on a highway in Pakistan.

Residents had flocked to the tanker with jerry cans to collect leaking fuel from it after it overturned.

In an interview on the condition of anonymity, one of the two sources also claimed that some of the president’s latest health symptoms revealed in our recent reports arose as adverse reactions to drugs prescribed for Mr. Buhari since he arrived in the UK.
