Nigeria - The General Overseer of the Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele Babatunde, says the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) acquittal of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, does not mean he is entirely off the hook of his political persecutors.
The cleric said this in reaction to Saraki’s victory at the CCT a few days ago.

Nigeria - President of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has expressed outrage at the removal of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) as a subject of study from the secondary school curriculum, describing it as a move by President Muhammadu Buhari to Islamise Nigeria.
Recall that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) complained about the development during its meeting with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Nigeria - 36-year-old billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike alias Evans, has revealed that he wanted to kill himself when he sighted the police coming for him.
According to him, he ran into his room to end his life but was followed by the police who prevented him.

20 injured as plane from Paris hits turbulence in China




At least 20 people were hurt, four of them seriously, when a China Eastern Airlines flight from Paris hit turbulence on Sunday over southwest China, state media said.
The incident happened when Flight MU744 from Charles de Gaulle Airport was descending to land at Kunming Changshui International Airport in Yunnan province, Xinhua news agency reported.

US destroyer almost foundered after collision, bodies found




The bodies of missing sailors were found in flooded compartments of the USS Fitzgerald, which came close to sinking after a collision with a container ship off Japan tore a gash under the warship's waterline, the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet commander said on Sunday.

Dozens killed or wounded in attack on Afghanistan police headquarters




Dozens of people were killed or wounded when as many as five suicide bombers attacked a police headquarters in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, officials said.
The attack, claimed by the Taliban, began around 6:30 a.m. (0200 GMT) when one bomber detonated a car packed with explosives at the gate of the police headquarters in Gardez city, capital of Paktia province, said Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

Disturbing news from Portugal as deadly forest fire kills at least 19




A forest fire in central Portugal killed at least 19 people on Saturday, most of them occupants of various vehicles that were on the road and caught in the blaze, an official said in televised remarks.
The fire, which has yet to be controlled, is already one of the deadliest forest fires in Portugal in decades.

At least three women were killed and nine injured after an explosive device detonated in a restroom in an busy upscale shopping center in Colombia's capital on Saturday, officials said.
The Andino shopping center in an exclusive area of Bogota was evacuated after the blast at around 5 p.m. local time in the women's lavatory.

Nigeria - The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has approved the special promotion of policemen who participated in the arrest of Lagos most wanted kidnapper, Duneme Onwuamadike otherwise known as Evans.
Evans, who is believed to be the richest kidnaper in Nigeria was arrested in Lagos last two Saturday by policemen while he prepared to travel out of the country by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), lead by ACP Abba Kyari.
