His  appearance at a Safe Facility in Abuja was to assure his followers that he is indeed alive,contrary to rumour of his death last week.

Following clash in Kano State, police arrest 10 Shi’ite members

Nigeria - Police authorities in Kano have arrested 10 members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in connection with Sunday’s clash between Shi’ite members and police in the state.

But in a swift reaction, the spokesman of the IMN, Ibrahim Musa in a statement, said the police killed four members of the movement during the clash. 

Two feared killed, at least 20 injured as Shiites and police clash in Kano

Nigeria - Two members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (also known as Shiites) were yesterday feared killed and a score injured during a clash with men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

According to an eyewitness, the pandemonium broke out during the yearly Arbaeen procession by members of sect, in their hundreds, from the popular Kofar Mazugal quarters in the morning to Kofar Nasarawa area for prayer to round off the exercise.

Zeenat is the wife of the revered leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, and the couple is in detention on the orders of the president, despite court orders granting them reprieve.

Police and Shiites clash at NASS, Abuja as Army restores order

Nigeria - Security at the main gate of the National Assembly was restored by personnel of the Nigerian Army following a clash between policemen and protesting members of a Shi’ite group, Islamic Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on Wednesday.

The Shi’ite members converged at the National Assembly to protest the continued detention of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, by the government.

Shiites accuse President Buhari of dictatorship tendencies, want leader and wife released

Members of the Islamic Movement Nigeria (IMN), otherwise known as Shiites, yesterday, called for the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife from detention in line with the ruling of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Besides, the group reacted to claims by government, necessitating El-Zakzaky’s continuous detention in the custody of the Directorate of State Security (DSS), while calling on President Buhari to respect rule of law and fundamental rights of Nigerians, as directed by the court.
