Oh gracious! Woman burnt to death by pastor in church ritual

An evangelical pastor in Nicaragua and four followers have been sentenced to 30 years in jail for burning a woman to death in a so-called exorcism ritual.

The woman Vilma Trujillo, 25, died in February after being tied up and thrown on a fire.

The group had denied killing her and said she was possessed by the devil.

A young woman in an isolated part of Nicaragua has died a week after being tied up and allegedly thrown on a fire in an exorcism ritual.

Family members told local media that Vilma Trujillo had been attacked by four people led by a man who said he was an evangelical pastor.

Juan Rocha denied burning Mrs Trujillo, saying evil spirits had suspended her above the fire and then dropped her.

A volcanologist and his guide are recovering after they fell into an active volcano in Nicaragua and had to be rescued by firemen.

Argentinian Rodolfo Alvarez, 60, and his guide Adriac Valladares, 25, fell into the crater of Masaya Volcano, south of the capital Managua.
