President Buhari’s visit to Turkey attracts 23 companies to Nigeria

Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit to Turkey to boost bilateral trade, 23 Turkish electrical manufacturing  companies will  visit Nigeria this week to meet buyers and distributors. 

The Managing Director of Naijalink Ltd., Mrs Thessa Bagu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the visit would strengthen trade and economic relations between Nigeria and Turkey.

‘How President Buhari doused tension between Nigeria, Turkey’

Nigeria - President Muhammadu Buhari employed diplomacy to douse the tension that the issue of the Fethullah Movement would have created between Nigeria and Turkey, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geofrey Onyeama, said at the weekend.

He also said the Turkish authorities requested for the extradition of over 1,000 Turkish citizens in Nigeria for belonging to the Fethullah Movement “FETO”, which has been declared a terrorists organisation by the Turkish government.

Nigeria - President Muhammadu Buhari who was invited for a State Visit to Turkey on Wednesday was welcomed with an official ceremony by Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

After the ceremony, the two leaders took some snap shots and headed inside the presidential complex.

Also, Buhari would participate in the ninth D-8 Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, on Oct. 20.

At least one gunman shot his way into an Istanbul nightclub packed with hundreds of New Year's revelers on Sunday, killing 39 people and wounding more than 40 in what the provincial governor described as a terrorist attack.

One assailant shot a police officer and a civilian as he entered the Reina nightclub before opening fire at random inside, Istanbul Governor Vasip Sahin said at the scene. Some reports suggested there were multiple attackers.
