Nigeria - At least six persons, a male and five females, were feared dead in a motor accident, monday at the Interchange section of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident, confirmed by Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Ogun State Traffic Compliance Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, occurred when a commercial Nissan Quest Sport Utility Van (SUV), with registration number FKJ 297 AJ, travelling from Lagos, rammed into a moving IVECO truck, with registration number LND 902 XE.
Akinbiyi, who said the cause of the accident was over speeding and reckless driving on the part of the SUV driver, said officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and men of the TRACE, were at the scene to tow the two vehicles to ensure free flow of traffic on the expressway.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims, including the driver of the SUV, have been deposited at the morgue of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH) in Sagamu.
