Ander Herrera reveals Morata was close to sealing Manchester United move

Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, has revealed that Alvaro Morata was “very close” to becoming his team-mate at Old Trafford.
Morata was heavily linked with a move to United this summer, but they failed to agree a deal with Real Madrid for the Spain striker.

The Red Devils eventually moved for Romelu Lukaku instead.
Herrera is disappointed the move won’t happen, with Morata now potentially staying put at the Bernabeu.
“I even started to think I’d be playing with Morata. He was really close to signing,” he said.
“It’s a shame he’s not with us but he’s a top striker and will do well wherever he plays.”
