Nigeria - Leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday arrived, Enugu, the capital of Enugu State.
This was a major public outing after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted him bail last week.
Upon arrival in the coal city, he reportedly drove straight to the Biafra Cenotaph Hill Top, in the state capital during which he was said to have prayed for safe return from prison and arrival into Biafraland.
Kanu prayed as a Jew and looked to the sky, in supplication.
Thereafter, Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful, announced “Nnamdi Kanu has arrived Biafraland and has prayed at the cenotaph at Enugu.
He added: “Anytime Kanu comes into Biafraland, he would first visit the cenotaph for private prayers.
“Biafra Cenotaph Enugu is the commemorative site of fallen heroes of Biafra.
“Kanu went to present himself before the Almighty God and to pay his respects to Biafran soldiers and IPOB activists that fell in defence of our freedom.
“He was seen kissing the feet of Biafran fallen heroes at the Biafra Cenotaph in Enugu.
The IPOB spokesman further said: “Thereafter, he would go to Hill Top Ngwo, to pray at the cenotaph before proceeding to his home to see his parents and his people.
He has paid his customary homage to the memory of our fallen heroes.
“Heaven and earth will bear us witness,” Powerful stated.
