However, Mr Morales's deputy has predicted Bolivia's first head of state of indigenous origin could still win, as official results trickle in.

The constitution change would have let Mr Morales remain in power until 2025.

The Nigerian military has arrested two Boko Haram suspects, Messrs Audu Umar and Hassan Umar, for smuggling themselves among the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) brought from Pulka to Gwoza IDPs’ camp in Borno State.

The PRNigeria reported that the male suspects are undergoing interrogation by the military and intelligence operatives.

Police say they are treating as assault an incident in which West Bromwich Albion's Chris Brunt was hit by a coin after his team lost 3-1 to Reading.

The 31-year-old Northern Ireland international suffered a cut under his left eye after he was pelted by the 50p piece - which he claimed was thrown by his own team's fans.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis claimed Brunt could have been blinded by the assault.

Six people have been shot dead and two others are severely injured in a series of apparently random attacks over nearly seven hours in Michigan.

It had been reported that a 14-year-old girl was among the dead, but it has now been confirmed she survived.

Police were first called at around 7.50pm local time on Saturday to an apartment building in Kalamazoo County where a woman was severely injured after being shot many times.
