Posters accusing Pope Francis of attacking conservative Catholics appeared around Rome this weekend and were swiftly covered up by city authorities.

The posters, put up during the night between Friday and Saturday by mystery activists, featured a picture of a stern-faced pope and the slogan: "Where's your mercy?"

Gov Fayose to Buhari: Increase allowance of Corpers from #19,800 to #50,000

Nigeria - The governor of Ekiti state turned "Human Right Activist" Ayodele Fayose and has called on the Nigerian government to increase allowance of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The governor said Nigerian must collectively join him to mandate the federal government to increase the allowance from N19,800 to N50,000.

Nigeria - The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has assured the people of Enugu State that the Federal Government will complete ongoing federal road projects in the area within 18 months.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that Fashola made the pledge at the 9th mile axis of Enugu-Onitsha Road during an inspection tour of some ongoing federal roads projects in Enugu State on Saturday 4th February.

Serves him right! US jails Nigerian 27 years for $1.7m internet scam

A US court last Thursday sentenced a Nigerian, Olayinka Ilumsa Sunmola, to 27 years in jail for international romance scam he perpetrated from 2007 to 2014.
Lagos-born Sunmola, who was the ringleader of a love scam organisation based in South Africa, was also ordered to repay $1.7m.

Judge David Herndon of a US district Court in East St. Louis heard how Sumola and others scammed many American women of millions of dollars while parading themselves as American soldiers stationed overseas or engineers working on a large government contract in South Africa.

The US Department of Justice is formally appealing a federal judge's ruling which suspended President Trump's travel ban.

Judge James Robart had questioned the constitutionality of his controversial executive order, which blocks citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US.

The federal government's request, filed with the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals, asks for the judge's order to be lifted.

EFCC stops Fayose from bank account access again, he blasts EFCC and the FG as usual

Nigeria - Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has again prevented him from making withdrawal from his two accounts at the Ado-Ekiti branch of Zenith Bank Plc.

The governor vowed to challenge the action he described as the impunity by the anti-graft agency.

A Revolutionary Guards commander said Iran would use its missiles if its security is under threat, as the elite force defied new U.S. sanctions on its missile programme by holding a military exercise on Saturday.

Tensions between Tehran and Washington have risen since a recent Iranian ballistic missile test which prompted U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to impose sanctions on individuals and entities linked to the Revolutionary Guards.
